Also - many times as I get changed tables in a tourney, PE does not start on the new tables. The only remedy I have found is to totally log out of PE and FT and then restart the two (PE first of course and allowing it to launch FT). This usually means missing at least one hand and if in multiple tournaments, could mean 4-8 hands. Is there a better way to do this????

I haven't played any big tournaments lately. But when that used to happen to me I had to do what you are doing to get it to work. I would wait to do the restart until I was UTG and just folded. Because in the next hand I'd be the BigBlind and last to act... so that's the biggest break during normal play. I never missed a hand restarting PE and FT when I timed it like that. But... I generally only played one big tournament at a time. The problem is of course exacerbated when playing multiple tournaments.
That's all I got about that... maybe others that currently play big tournaments can chime in with other helpful advice.

I frequently have issues with PE stopping working. it is associated with my wireless connection, anytime it goes down the tables stop working. They usually work fine in moving from table to table in a tourney, UNLESS my wireless has gone down, (usually noticed by me when FT kicks up a window saying site found, establishing connection).
When that happens, I usually wait until I am in a hand i know i am going to fold, but I don't fold the cards, I close out and reopen the programs and usually find I am still in the hand, or just folded. I don't fold the cards, rather i let them time me out which gives about 15-20 seconds more time to reset. (super turbos)

as so ever very often i have a slightly different opinion ; )
and maybe a too slow pc as well - to do the prog-restart fast enough
sometimes the (seldom where i play) problem might be solved by closing the table
wait till it vanished in the Lookup and then reseat again.
if its a real hang up - i will wait till the next break with that restart of PE
if its the final table - i will play it without the stats
(i close PE once the game is heads up by myself, as it only dilutes the SH-stats)
but i would never ever risk auto-folding a single hand in a MTT
for the sake of getting the actual stats updated...
for a complete restart, depending of "fastness" of the table, i might need 2-3 hands
and - man - can you imagine what hands that could have been ; ))
as well i might, too quickly, start a NL SnG after a game of OH8
where i close the PE as well - and then just go without it
take it as simple practice inbetween and it should not harm your game
if the rather seldom case appears that it drops out on you
youre kinda trained allready and just beat them as b4 ; )
