I've been using PE for a while with a silver subscription, and I'm curious about what plus the Gold subscription can give me regarding tournaments.
On the site it is said that the silver gives me access to all tournaments, the Gold gives me unlimited access? What's the difference?

The difference from the tournament point of view is nil. The difference between gold and silver is in the access to the cash game stats. Silver has access to cash tables up to NL50 (50 cent big blind) and limit 3/6 whereas Gold has all cash tables included.
If you are strictly playing tournaments there is not much of a reason to upgrade but if you want to (or currently are) playing cash tables upgrading could be an option.
